Wallpaper

We had to decide fairly quickly about the wallpaper for the new SixOneSix shop (which is nextdoor to ourselves!) but this is what is going in. Harlequin Decadence in Passion.

We were going to purchase it in a store locally but found that we more than halved the price by purchasing from the UK (Saved $600). So thats what we did, and it arrived within four days.

The wall preparation is no fun at all, lining paper is slippery and slimy and just downright bad to work with, but we wrangled it into place for one of the walls, one to go. Then the wallpaper goes on.

Anyway, I like to look at this picture to give myself hope that it will turn out to be beautiful after all the pain of putting it up! I wish I didn't love wallpaper so much!

My Folk Lover

When it comes to furnishing my new place, I hope to have some spare corners for chairs and cushions, somewhere nice to sit.

I think I kind of love the Lillberg chair from Ikea. I want a stylish rocking chair and this may be it, plus it has a funky bold print.

As soon as I move in (February!) I will be posting some photos for a before and after. But, it is renovated inside already. So the photos may not be shockingly different. Just my own touches here and there to make it home.

I have a little thing happening with adorable nesting dolls. I don't know why but they're just so sweet and I can't help but want to put them everywhere. I even ordered some Japanese fabric from Etsy seller, Sakura fabric featuring Babushka dolls.

I stumbled across these wall decals from Bored Inc. (available at Urban Outfitters and the Bored Inc website)

They would look great next to a vintage piece of furniture with rust/yellow undertones. You could also frame them on white board in a white frame too for some lovely wall art thats even more changeable than sticking the decals directly on the wall.

These prints are so cute! I can't get enough of YumiYumi's designs. I love hand illustrated prints and designs and I couldn't help myself but to feature another print artist!

The above print is called 'The Cherry Berry Monster" and is an original illustration and is part of a series of Berry monsters. They would look great in a kids room or even to bring some colour your own room.

I'm getting my new little cat Sooty from the animal shelter tomorrow and on my search for new pet products for her I found Jax and Bones.
